MakoSolutions, LLC – Fully Managed Overview

MakoSolutions fully managed services were created to relieve server owners from a majority of administrative tasks. This allows you to focus on your website instead of managing your dedicated or virtual private server (VPS).

We believe that our dedicated servers and VPS accounts should be a complete hosting solution, which is why all of our services include full management. We realize a majority of our customers want to sleep at night not having to worry about their server. This is why we have certified technicians ready to assist with any technical support inquires you may have.

Every fully managed account includes the following:

Software/Application Assistance

We provide assistance with all default server software (HTTP, POP3/SMTP, DNS, SSH, etc.) including any purchased control panel software.

Level 3 Troubleshooting

All fully managed services come with fast access to certified Level 3 technicians should you require assistance with your server’s operating system (OS) or hosting applications at any time.

Network Management

The dedicated server and VPS networks are monitored through a centralized interface by MakoSolutions engineers. Each network segment is carefully monitored for any packet loss or abnormal latency.

MakoShield™

Server hardening and security auditing are performed with all cPanel servers before delivery. Our team will install a security suite (firewall + attack monitoring) to help prevent any intrusions to your server along with anti-spam optimizations.

MakoResponse™ – Beta Rollout (Q1 2010)

Our specially designed internal systems will monitor your server’s vital statistics and immediately notify a staff member if an issue should arise. In case of downed services, a technician will resolve the matter and notify you via our helpdesk system of the events.

If you believe you have needs that are not met by our standard full management policy, please do not hesitate to contact our sales department for a customized quote. Customers who require load balancing, application level management/monitoring, or special network configurations should contact a sales engineer so that a custom tailored solution can be made to fit your requirements and budget.

Full management is only included with Linux based plans that include a control panel. Windows Server 2003/2008, while offered, comes with no server management (only limited support provided directly through datacenter).

The features listed on the side of this page may not be included with all server configurations. Systems ordered without a control panel include basic management only.

Third party scripts are generally not supported, although best effort support will be provided to help solve any issues a client may have.

Firewall Protection
  • CSF/LFD Installation:

    Includes security optimizations to help prevent unwated access to your VPS or dedicated server. Each server is configured with connection and process monitoring to alert of any suspicious behavior.

    Any un-used ports are closed and all login attempts are logged. Repeated attempts to gain access to a service without proper credentials leads to an automatic ban of the offending IP/source.
Apache/PHP Customizations
  • HTTP Intrusion Prevention:

    Mod_security Apache module is installed and configured to prevent against both known and unknown script exploits. By loading a well defined ruleset, mod_security is able to thwart malicious attempts to gain access to your system.
  • PHP Optimization/Security:

    PHP is configured to maximize server security through a set of modules and rulesets defined.
